愛知県岡崎市出身。幼少期をインドネシアで過ごし、高校の時に近代・現代音楽と出会い衝撃を受ける。
その後渡米、現地大学にて現代音楽を中心に学び、ピアノ科学士号・修士号取得。ピアノの他にも、トロンボーン・ユーフォニウムを嗜み、マーチングバンドやジャズバンドにも積極的に参加、幅広く活動。在学中、アシスタントアカンパニストとして同大学に勤務。大学付属のアートスクールにてジャズピアノの指導にあたる。
学業以外では、フリーランスのミュージシャンとして近郊の音楽イベントやコンサートにも多数参加し、アカンパニストとして、近隣のコミュニティイベントやコンクールで数々の伴奏をこなす。
2010年に帰国後、フリージャズユニット「pd」を結成。2015年にpd初となるミニアルバム「usagi to neko」をリリース。森山威男、坂田明、小山彰太、Paal Nilssen-Loveをはじめとする著名なミュージシャンとも多数共演。現在は坂田明SOSに参加する傍、様々なセッションに参加、東海地区を中心に活動中。
Born in Aichi, Nana has spent her childhood in Indonesia. Being introduced to contemporary music at high school, she decided to pursue contemporary/modern music at university in USA. She studied at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana and got Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano performance.
She also actively participated in marching band, wind ensemble and jazz ensemble as a trombone & euphonium player. She also worked for Butler as an assistant accompanist and as a jazz piano instructor for Indiana's community art school.
While her stay in Indianapolis, she worked as a freelance musician and was involved in various music events in the community. Back to Japan in 2010, she formed "pd", a free-jazz duo unit with a female drummer. In 2016, pd released their first mini album "usagi to neko". Notable musicians she collaborated with include Takeo Moriyama (ds), Akira Sakata (as), Shota Koyama (ds), Paal Nilssen-Love (dr) and many more. Currently She's actively performing as a pianist for Akira Sakata SOS and collaborating with various musicians and artists of versatile genres mainly in Tokai area in Japan.
